After
the summer course we decided to get some rest on
Malta.
We wanted to visit some of their caves, but somehow we concentrated more on doing nothing and on travelling on / around the island.
There were some smaller holes - small sea caves, but we found only one larger one.
During a drive around the island in a rented car we came to Ghar Hasan cave
that lies in the South-East part of the island, close to the city Birzebbuga.
The cave is located in a high cliff wall, several tens of meters above sea level.
You can get to it via a easy path, having paid a small fee before
(you also get flashlights for that, but these don't give too much light).
But that was nice, actually - use visit the cave without any guides and there's no light.
At least no artificial light; there are several windows opening on the sea.
The cave isn't very big (or the available part, at least), but it's worth visiting.
We liked it.
