And our first dive in a real cave
(the dives in
New Zealand don't really count
as you could stop the dive and get out into the air at any time(.
This was a real cave, with submerged stalactites.
But quite safe - it consists of four chambers connected by short tunnels.
In each chamber you could find a place to emerge into a bubble of air.
And the tunnels were only a couple of meters long.
But a really fantastic dive - a bit too many people (the cave isn't that big), very warm topside,
but the rocks and stalactite reflections from the underside of the water table...
Beautiful!
The bottom is covered with very fine sediments (chalk?), that is very easily disturbed.
Hence, it's very easy to cause a sharp drop in visibility.
Especially if people swim dragging their buddies over the bottom!
(not joking here - that's exactly the way a group from Japan "dived").
