Yeah, yeah, we all know that hamburgers aren't healthy.
But since we like them anyway, let's make some at home. :-)
Delicious! And you know for sure, what you're eating.
- minced beef (take 150 grams per person)
- burger buns, seeded or not, better bigger ones
- onion, tomato, pickled cucumber, any leaf salad you like
- mayonnaise, ketchup
- bacon rashers (I prefer smoked)
- cheese slices (best cheese singles, individually wrapped slices)
- Form flat, thin steaks from the minced meat.
Steaks must be bigger then buns - they will shrink when heated.
Fry on a pan on both sides over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of oil at the beginning.
When done, transfer steaks to a plate and leave to drain away (but don't let them get cold).
No, I didn't forget spices - I just did not add any.
Some people add salt and pepper to the meat.
- Cut buns in half and warm them in the oven.
Be careful not to burn them!
- Put steaks on warm rolls, cover with cheese slices and warm a bit more - to melt the cheese.
Do not cover with the second half of the roll yet.
- In the meantime, prepare vegetables:
slice onion, roughly shred green leaf salad, slice tomato and pickle.
Fry bacon until crispy.
- Serve vegetables in bowls on the table, along with sauces.
Then everyone can add anything she/he wants to the burger.
And mind the oozing sauces! :)
